Nursery is Finally Complete!

So we are only 5 1/2 months late in finishing Noelle's room...I wonder what we have been busy doing???

The cute paintings on the wall were done by Kirk and the frames were made by Kirk and his Dad.

Happy Belated Valentine's Day

We celebrated a belated Valentine's day since Kirk was sick on Valentine's. Grandma and Grandpa watched Noelle while Kirk and I went out to dinner. Here's Noelle with her Valentine's bear and balloon courtesy of the balloon master, Grandma Ann.
Noelle and I made a frame for Kirk's Valentine's gift. We tried to put handprints on the frame, but Noelle kept making her hands into fists. Instead, we ended up putting footprints.

Here's my friends

I have lots of baby friends that are all born within a month of me. We get together for lunches, walks, music class and more! Here is am trying to get Dillon's hand in my mouth to chomp on.

I'm a big girl now

I am getting good at sitting up. I still need my hands to support me and will often start leaning to one side before Mommy or Daddy catch me.

I can sit in my high chair now and sit with Mommy and Daddy while they eat. I'm not eating solid foods yet.

I got a cool new jogging stroller and can sit foward facing. As you'll notice, I hang on for dear life, though.

I am outgrowing my baby bathtub and splash water all over the place.

What do you do when it's cold in California?

Pretend you're in Hawaii....
Mom had the sudden urge to try on the cute Hawaiian outfits that Noelle received....

new sounds

Tonight Noelle decided to treat us to a new sound that she has been working on. Not sure where it came from but she is certainly proud of it. Sitting on her bouncy chair she started in on it and just kept going. Even after we took her upstairs to put her into her jammies she kept making the sound. Of course it was cracking us up, so she was doing a good job of entertaining us.

phffffffffft!

January Update from Noelle

As the holidays are over and Mommy is still on maternity leave, we have been keeping busy with our Mommy and baby friends who are also still not working. I have been a good sleeper at night logging in about 11 - 12 hours with waking up only once to eat. I still refuse to take the bottle so I am still attached to Mommy all the time. I am talking a lot these days and learn new sounds all the time. I found my thumb and it tastes really good!!!

Hanging out with cousins Maile and Aidan

Awww Mom, why do you have to take naked pictures of me???

sometimes you just gotta laugh at velcro

we found out that one thing noelle finds funny is velcro. not sure why since the sound of it used to scare her into tears. she is getting bigger all the time and is very interested in her surroundings now. she gets easily distracted by noises (usually by dad) and mom has to often times cover her eyes while nursing her so that she will concentrate on the task at hand. she has developed an evening fussyness that keeps us busy bouncing and rocking her to keep her happy and to put her to sleep.

Oh no...hernia!

We just found out on Friday that Noelle has a hernia. Friday night Noelle was crying hysterically, which is unusual for her. When changing her diaper we found a big lump. As frantic parents, we started calling the after hours clinic. In the meantime the lump went away but the crying continued. The nurse said it's probably not a big deal but take her to emergency anyway. In the emergency room the lump popped back out and they immediately told us it's a hernia.

Saturday morning we took her to her pediatrician and she said that it'll go in and out and it's probably not in need of immediate repair. She referring us to a pediatric surgeon to get it fixed. Poor Noelle will need to have surgery to fix it. Mom also had to have the same surgery when she was a baby.
